The Odyssey XV, one of the invitational teams taking part in the open portion of the World Schools Festival are delighted to announce Wessel du Plessis as one of the teams coaches.

Du Plessis is renowned for his work at Grey College having achieved massive success with the school joining as a teacher in 2010 before being appointed as head coach of the first team in 2014.

Under Wessel’s watchful eye the College produced some memorable sides with the classes of 2018 and 2019 in particular being remembered both going unbeaten and ranked the best first team in the country in both those years.

He has gone on to achieve massive success with the Bulls at youth level including a tripe crown of the Under 19, Under 20 and Under 21 championships showcasing his pedigree even further.

Simon Lewis Director of Rugby for the Odyssey XV was extremely excited by the announcement stating: “For an invitational team to have a coach of Wessel’s caliber is a massive coup for the team and the boys will naturally be eager to learn from one of the best young coaches out there. It also presents a fantastic opportunity for our South African boys to showcase their ability in front of one of the key decision makers at the Bulls.”
